Most People Lie on Facebook

What people mostly write on Facebook may be a lie.

Scientists have claimed that most of the content people write on the social media about themselves is a lie. It was revealed by a poll which was conducted by an anonymous online journal repository.Usually 18 to 24 year olds may write false contents of relationships and success at work etc. as the truth. Clinical psychologists have warned at that later they were at risk of recalling them as reality. Lying about our lives on social media, such as Facebook and twitter will create false memories and makes it impossible to tell truth from fiction.  The reason for Social media users’ creating the false events is may be due to their fear of being seen as boring by others or Jealousy of other people’s lives. It is revealed in the research that about two thirds of social media users inventing events. Psychologist Dr. Richard Sherry, who has worked with the US Army, police and fire services, and conducted the study, found that every three in ten were feeling that they “couldn’t live up” to their online representation and one in seven felt sadness or shame about their lies, and warned that social media posts could blur the lines between “real, lived lives” and our memories. These lies can also cause problems as paranoia and memory problems.The poll conducted by an online Journal which aims to preserve true life of the people. It allowed its users to anonymously post 200 words every day to their personal Journal.

Hunger in The World

Above 13 present of the people in the world are consuming less than the recommend calories a day. About 2 billion people in the world are under nourished causing malnutrition and increased medical expenses. It is estimated that these expenses are about $30 billion each year. According to Global Hunger Index 55 countries are facing worse hunger situation.  The principal cause of hunger is poverty which also causing lack of resources, an extremely unequal income distribution in the world and within specific countries, conflict, and hunger itself. One in nine people in the world do not have sufficient to eat. 98 present of the hunger exists in underdeveloped countries and about 1 in 15 children in developing countries dying from hunger.1 out of 6 infants are born with a low birth weight. In every 10 seconds a child is dying due to hunger related deceases. Of the total hunger 60 present are women. It assumed that 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry with 23 million in Africa alone.But on the other side the global food production is almost sufficient to all. Apart from poverty the main cause is the wastage of food. Many in the present world scrap some food in the dishes after having enough meal. We may think that amount is too small but the magnitude of the wastes is very high globally. According to a report by UNEP about one third of the world’s food is lost. That means for every 4 calories 1 calorie is wasted without consumption and thrown into garbage. In the most industrialized countries the amount of the food wastage is almost equal to the food production. In USA about 30-40% of the food is wasted which is equal to more than 20 pounds of food per person per month. This also has huge impact on the environment.
So think before you waste food. Buy the amount of food sufficient to you and save food, many others are starving outside.

Strange Festivals



There are many weird festivals celebrated throughout the world here are some of them.

Cooper’s Hill cheese Rolling and wake


It is an annual festival held in England. This is a traditional event which involves the rolling of round double Gloucester cheese and the people roll down the hill after this cheese. The first person who rolls and race down to touch the line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese.

Monkey buffet festival

The monkey buffet festival is annually held in Thailand, where about 2000 kilograms of food and fruits are spread out for monkeys to feast on.  Here is a popular belief that these monkeys are descendants of a monkey warrior and therefore are known to bring fortune to people. On this one day large numbers of monkeys are left out to roam freely among people and have a lavish meal.

Blackawton International Festival of Worm Charming

       This is a competition held in southeastern England, teams are given a square meter of land in the middle of a field and tasked with “charming” as many worms as possible to the surface from the soil-y lair in 15 minutes. Strategies vary wildly for charming the worms, the only rule being that you can’t dig them out. Some competitors woo the worms with song, playing out beats on the ground or melodies on a lute. Others opt to ape nature, sprinkling water on their patch of ground to replicate a soft spring rain.

Cat food festival

This festival is celebrated every year where various dishes of cat meat are cooked and prepared for consumption by people. People believe that cat meat is good for treating bronchi ailments.
