Most People Lie on Facebook



What people mostly write on Facebook may be a lie.

Scientists have claimed that most of the content people write on the social media about themselves is a lie. It was revealed by a poll which was conducted by an anonymous online journal repository.Usually 18 to 24 year olds may write false contents of relationships and success at work etc. as the truth. Clinical psychologists have warned at that later they were at risk of recalling them as reality. Lying about our lives on social media, such as Facebook and twitter will create false memories and makes it impossible to tell truth from fiction.  The reason for Social media users’ creating the false events is may be due to their fear of being seen as boring by others or Jealousy of other people’s lives. It is revealed in the research that about two thirds of social media users inventing events. Psychologist Dr. Richard Sherry, who has worked with the US Army, police and fire services, and conducted the study, found that every three in ten were feeling that they “couldn’t live up” to their online representation and one in seven felt sadness or shame about their lies, and warned that social media posts could blur the lines between “real, lived lives” and our memories. These lies can also cause problems as paranoia and memory problems.The poll conducted by an online Journal which aims to preserve true life of the people. It allowed its users to anonymously post 200 words every day to their personal Journal.
