Long lasting bulbs will soon available which can reduce energy usage by ten
percent
These light bulbs are made with super-strong carbon or grapheme and will be
available in the market later in 2015. These light bulbs will cut energy use by
10 percent and last longer owing to its conductivity. This dimmable bulb
contains a filament-shaped LED coated in grapheme.
The bulb was designed at Manchester University, where the material was
discovered. Light bulb was developed by a Canadian-financed company called Graphene
Lighting-one of whose directors is Prof Colin Bailey; deputy vice-chancellor at
the university of Manchester. Based on traditional light bulb design, the use
of graphene allows it to conduct electricity and heat more effectively. It has
been expected to be price lower than some of the LED bulbs, which can cost 15
pounds each.
